It’s been one heck of a ride this year, that’s for sure. It seems like we’ve been dodging viruses the way a station wagon dodges tornadoes on a cross country family vacation. “Hey, hey, easy kids. Everybody in the car. Boat leaves in two minutes… or perhaps you don’t want to see the second largest ball of twine on the face of the earth, which is only four short hours away?” –Clark W Griswold. We’ve spent a lot of time under the proverbial overpass ducking for cover and hoping to emerge on the sunny side of the storm. Even through all of that though, we’ve managed to string together some awesome shows, even better performances by our riders, incredible times and we’ve added unforgettable memories to our tapestry. As the Summer winds down and we celebrate the last good months of show weather, we are as saddened as we are excited by the pending departure of some of Riverbend’s brightest stars as they embark on the next phase of their journeys. These amazing young women will leave a huge void here at Riverbend, but we wish them all the best in their brief hiatus from our barn, which we know they will be back to as lifetime members no matter where their careers take them. Good luck ladies!
